Empowering patients is the key to change health services

Listen to Professor Paul Corrigans interesting speech, which he held at the Swedish politician’s week in Almedalen at Gotland, about changing the national healthcare system.

Due to Corrigan, the healthcare system doesn’t empower people. The only way forward is a dramatic change and the empowerment of patient’s.
People are getting older and less diseases than ever before lead to death, instead we have more patients who need to deal with long term diseases.
Patients gain knowledge about their disease and they need to manage to live with a disease every day.

“Health is a motivator – it empowers people to do something about their health”, according to Paul Corrigan.
